Carson City first responders helped get a hiker to safety on Wednesday after they hurt their ankle along Kings Canyon Trail.
They say bystanders used an ATV to get their crews closer to the hiker before they walked the rest of the way.
They're reminding folks that accidents can happen at any time.
They ask hikers to know their route, carry a charged phone, bring water, and let people know where they're headed.
