2025 Nevada Day Cancellation Postage

Carson City, Nevada’s historic capital, is gearing up for its annual Nevada Day celebration with a unique tribute to the state’s frontier roots.

On Friday, October 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Carson City Post Office at 1111 S. Roop Street will offer a special pictorial postmark to commemorate the occasion.

The limited-edition postmark, available only that day, celebrates Nevada’s statehood and the “Wild Wild West” parade theme.

A designated employee will be in the post office lobby during regular business hours to provide the commemorative cancellation stamp to customers.

Carson City Postmaster Daniel Adams said the office wanted to “honor Nevada Day and encourage customers to stop by and receive their commemorative pictorial postmark.”

To create the design, the post office hosted a community art contest that launched on April 22. Local artists were invited to submit original artwork capturing Nevada’s spirit or the 2025 parade theme. By the May 31 deadline, dozens of entries were received.

The winning design came from a senior at Carson City High School, who developed the artwork in her graphic design class. Her illustration now serves as the official postmark for this year’s Nevada Day celebration, leaving a lasting impression on the state’s birthday festivities.
