The City of Reno is partnering with Desert Beats Collective and High Sierra Entertainment to host a free Día de los Muertos celebration at Locomotion Plaza.
The celebration will take place on Friday, November 1, from noon to 7 p.m.
The family-friendly event will highlight Mexican culture through live mariachi music, ballet folklórico performances, children’s craft activities, artisan vendors, and local food.
Guests are also invited to visit a community altar, or ofrenda, where families can honor loved ones by placing photos, candles, and mementos.
“We’re proud to celebrate this beautiful tradition that brings our community together through art, music, and remembrance,” said Maribel Garcia, event coordinator with Desert Beats Collective. “It’s an opportunity to honor our ancestors while sharing culture and joy with all generations.”
Organizers say the festival offers an afternoon filled with entertainment, creativity, and cultural connection in the heart of downtown Reno.
