The City of Reno is hiring lifeguards immediately in an effort to make up for the region's lack so that all City pools can be fully opened for the Spring-Summer 2025 season.

The City says lifeguards are paid $15.50 per hour, while trained swim instructors can earn up to $21.00.

All candidates need to be at least 15 years old, the City offers a flexible schedule, incentive compensation, city-funded lifeguard training and certification, and a Reconnect Membership are among the perks.

The City said it has been forced to restrict swim lessons and open swim hours at its aquatic facilities due to lifeguard shortages.

In order to staff other programs, Moana Springs has occasionally been unable to open its outdoor soaking pool and recreational pool slide due to a lack of lifeguards.

In addition to lifeguards, the City is also hiring for cashiers and swim instructors. To apply, visit this page on the City of Reno's website.
