UPDATE - December 23:
2 News Nevada would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by Scheels at Legends Mall last Friday to support the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive.
Thanks to the generosity of our Northern Nevada community, $709.12 was donated in person at the kettle, with an additional $75 contributed online.
We are also grateful to Scheels for hosting us during what was a very busy day of holiday shopping.
Our team truly enjoyed meeting viewers face-to-face, interacting with families, kids, and even the many dogs that shoppers brought along.
The day was a wonderful reminder of the kindness and community spirit that make Northern Nevada so special.
If you were unable to donate in person and would still like to contribute, the virtual Red Kettle is still live:

Thank you again, Northern Nevada, for your generosity, warm conversations, and continued support of both the Salvation Army and 2 News Nevada.

ORIGINAL STORY - December 19:Â
A regular shopping trip can turn into something more meaningful today as 2 News Nevada steps outside the studio to help ring in support for a local cause.
The 2 News Nevada crew will be set up at Scheels at Legends mall, located at 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks, inviting viewers to stop by, say hello, and donate to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive.
The team will be stationed at the south entrance, between the double doors on the parking lot side.
The effort runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with on-air talent and behind-the-scenes staff taking turns ringing bells and meeting people from the community.
Donations collected will support the Salvation Army of Northern Nevada and its programs that help people across the region.
For the community and viewers who cannot make it out in-person can still take part by donating online through the station’s virtual Red Kettle at https://give-do.salvationarmy.org/campaign/ktvn-2-news-virtual-kettle/c754084.
