TMFR fireworks are illegal

Fourth of July is just around the corner, and officials with Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue want to remind people that possessing and using fireworks is illegal in Washoe County.

According to Truckee Meadows Fire, the safest way to enjoy fireworks is to leave it to the professionals and enjoy one of the many public fireworks displays around the region. 

Dry vegetation, low humidity and high winds create ideal conditions for fast-moving wildfires. 

TMFR says, "If it flies, explodes, spins or launches into the air, it's illegal in Washoe County."
