Operation Easter Basket CCNN

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN) is calling on the community to help collect 1,400 Easter baskets for children across Washoe County and Northern Nevada.

The annual Operation Easter Basket program aims to ensure every child experiences the magic of the season. CCNN is seeking donations of pre-filled Easter baskets, empty baskets, books, coloring books, toys, cellophane, and monetary contributions. Pre-filled baskets should be age-specific, serving children from infancy through age 18, with a suggested value of $25 each.

Baskets may include age- and gender-appropriate toys, books, bubbles, outdoor games, activities, toiletries, and gift cards. Donors are asked to avoid perishable items or individually wrapped gifts. To help with proper distribution, baskets should be clearly labeled with the intended age and gender and secured with cellophane.

“We are deeply grateful for the community’s generosity in helping our families experience the joy and blessings of this special holiday,” said Lisa Ross, director of community outreach and engagement at CCNN. “Easter is such a fun time to share the joy of giving and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.”

Additional ways to support Operation Easter Basket include shopping CCNN’s Amazon Wishlist, making a donation online at ccsnn.org, or mailing a check to Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, PO Box 5099, Reno, NV 89513, Attn: Operation Easter Basket.

Donations may be dropped off at St. Vincent’s Thrift Store, 500 E. Fourth St., Reno, or St. Vincent’s Super Thrift Store, 190 E. Glendale Ave., Sparks. Drop-offs are accepted Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through Monday, March 23. Basket distribution will take place on Monday, March 30.
