A coalition of local construction organizations will be teaming up to host the 7th annual Northern Nevada Construction Career Day.
The event is being held on Thursday, October 3 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
Around 1,600 local middle and high schoolers are expected to attend the event, where they can learn about career opportunities in the construction field and get some hands-on demonstrations.
Construction Career Day is meant to introduce northern Nevada students to the variety of careers in the construction industry. The one-day event brings in students to get education and training, learn about apprenticeship opportunities and participate in hands-on activities and interactive exhibits.
Folks representing construction firms, industry associations and higher education will be on hand to answer questions and showcase the different aspects of the construction trades.
