Details have been released about a fatal crash in late November that killed one on U.S. Highway 95 south of Mina.
At around 10:40 a.m. on November 26, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a call about a crash at the junction of U.S. Highway 95 and NV State Route 360, roughly 10 miles south of Mina.
The investigation uncovered that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was making a left-hand turn from SR360 onto northbound U.S. 95.
A Freightliner semi truck was traveling south on U.S. 95, approaching the same junction.
The driver of the jeep didn't yield the right of way to the semi, and the left side of the Jeep was struck by the front of the semi.
The driver of the Jeep, 77-year old Michael Morgan of Camarillo, CA, succumbed to injuries received as a result of the crash, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
A passenger in the Jeep was transported to a hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit. Officials are asking that if anyone was a witness to the crash or has any information to contact the NHP Elko Office at (775) 753-1111.
