South Lake Tahoe Police are investigating stabbing that occurred at Whole Foods.

It happened Tuesday just after 6:30 p.m. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 42-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. 

Officers then learned the suspect had fled the area on foot.

They were found five minutes later in the Ski Run area. He was identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile from South Lake Tahoe. 

The investigation revealed the suspect, and the victim did not know each other and the stabbing was unprovoked.

The suspect was booked into the El Dorado County Juvenile Treatment Center for attempted murder and is being held without bail.

The case remains an active investigation.
