Crews on the Arlington Bridges project in Washoe County are making steady progress as the work moves closer to completion, according to the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County in an online post.

Workers are pouring concrete for new sidewalks and retaining walls while installing landscaping infrastructure and irrigation throughout the project area. The project will also add 32 new trees this spring to enhance the corridor and strengthen the urban canopy.

To protect the new sidewalks, utilities, and other improvements, crews are installing root control boxes. These systems guide and contain root growth, helping trees thrive while safeguarding surrounding infrastructure.

In mid-March, weather permitting, crews plan to pour the concrete bridge deck on the south bridge, a major milestone for the project.

The post says that the Arlington Bridges Project remains on track for completion in summer 2026.
