Lockwood residents will soon start seeing crews along Long Valley Creek removing sediment and cleaning up after damage leftover from summer storms.
Storey County Public Works crews will be working along Long Valley Creek with the goal of restoring the creek to the capacity it had before the storms.
The county says Waste Management will provide trucks to help haul away sediment, while All-Lite Materials will accept the material at no cost to the County for use in its reclamation work. J-U-B Engineers Inc. is also helping guide the cleanup, with survey crews marking areas for Public Works crews.
"It’s important to note that this is storm damage cleanup, not the County’s larger Long Valley Creek improvement project. The County is continuing to work on longer-term plans to improve the creek and reduce future flood impacts in Lockwood," says Storey County.
