Nevada residents who lost food purchased with SNAP benefits because of the Bug, Fred, Stallion or Hawk fires—or related power outages—have until Sept. 7 to request replacement benefits.
The Nevada Division of Social Services received an extension from the USDA, giving affected households additional time beyond the normal 10-day reporting period.
SNAP recipients can report food losses at a local Division of Social Services office or by calling 775-684-7200.
Those who want to apply for SNAP benefits can do so through Access Nevada.
