Douglas County Deputies responded Thursday morning to Carson Valley Middle School in Gardnerville after a report of a possible active shooter.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in an online Facebook post, deputies immediately arrived at the school, located at 1477 U.S. Highway 395 N, and conducted a thorough investigation.

It was determined there were no threats, no shooters, and no evidence of any such activity.

“All students and staff are safe and secure,” the post stated. “The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the cooperation of school staff and students as deputies worked to ensure everyone’s safety.”

Authorities have not released additional details about the source of the report.
