The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) has released their October 2024 economic report.

The growth in Nevada's employment in the last year has come up by 1.3% statewide.

The state's unemployment rate has crept up by 0.1% to a total of 5.7%, while the state's labor force grew by 1,379.

Breaking down the numbers by Nevada's major cities:

  • Reno employment saw a decrease of 2,200 jobs (0.8%) since September - this is an increase overall of 900 jobs since this time in 2023.
  • Las Vegas employment went down by 3,300 jobs (0.3%) since September, an overall increase of 9,500 since October 2023.
  • Carson City employment leveled out and has seen no chance since September, which is an increase of 800 jobs since last year.
