In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Eureka County Communications Center received a call from someone saying they had shot a family member.

The man gave a Eureka address, then continued on to say that he planned on shooting police officers, before the dispatcher heard a gunshot and the phone call disconnected.

Deputies were immediately dispatched to the area, and called out for other resources.

During the investigation and the calls out to resources, the White Pine County Sheriff's Office said that they received a very similar call, only with the caller saying he was shooting up a gas station - which turned out to be a hoax.

Eureka County deputies were able to make contact with the people who lived at the reported address, who were unharmed and had all been sleeping at the time of the call to dispatch.

The case is currently being investigated by the Eureka County Sheriff's Office. If you have any information about the case, call (775) 237-5330.
