City of Reno

The City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Friday, November 28, 2025, in observance of Family Day.

The City will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 28, at Reno City Plaza.

All City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will be closed November 27–28.

Reno Police Department (RPD) Reporting Options:

  • For emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical response, call 9-1-1.

  • For non-emergency dispatch assistance, call 775-334-COPS (2677).

  • Online reporting is available at RenoPD.com under “File a Report.”

City of Sparks

The following administrative offices will be closed on Friday, November 28

  • Sparks City Hall

  • Sparks Parks & Recreation

  • Alf Sorensen Community Center

  • Larry D. Johnson Community Center

  • Sparks Municipal Court

City Hall, Parks and Recreation, and the Alf Sorensen and Larry D. Johnson Community Centers will close early at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26.
The Small Wonders program at those locations will operate normal hours on November 26.

Regular office hours will resume on Monday, December 1.

Douglas County

Douglas County administration offices will be closed Friday, November 28 for Family Day.

Normal business hours will resume on Monday, December 1.

Storey County

Storey County offices will be closed Friday, November 28, for Family Day.

Offices will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, December 1.

Washoe County

Most Washoe County offices will be closed Friday, November 28, in observance of Family Day.

  • Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex, 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno

  • All Washoe County Libraries (book drops and online services remain available)

  • Northern Nevada Public Health: all clinical, Environmental Health, Birth & Death Records, and WIC services

    • Customer service counters will close early at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26

  • Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office (field operations continue as normal; pet redemptions available 9 a.m.–3 p.m.)

  • Reno Justice Court

  • Sparks Justice Court

  • Incline Village Justice Court

  • Wadsworth Justice Court

  • Second Judicial District Court

  • Washoe County District Attorney’s Office

  • Washoe County Sheriff’s Office administrative offices

    • Visiting and cashier windows remain open

  • Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Headquarters/Fire Prevention and Administrative Offices – 3663 Barron Way

  • Washoe County Human Services Agency and all meal distribution locations, including Senior Centers

Open Office

  • Office of the County Clerk, Washoe County Complex

    • Open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. for fictitious firm names, notary bond filings, and marriage licenses

    • Passport services unavailable

Regional Transportation Commission (RTC)

RTC administrative offices and the customer service office will be closed on Friday, November 28.

Transit Service:

  • Friday, November 28: Normal weekday service

Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

DMV offices will be closed through Sunday, November 27–30.
