The Nevada Highway Patrol and Nevada Department of Transportation are reporting a fatal crash in the Silver Springs area that is blocking lanes on U.S. 50 and Ramsay Weeks Cutoff.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m., according to NHP and NDOT.

Two cars were involved, with one confirmed fatality, according to a release from NHP.

U.S. 50 is closed to eastbound traffic at Topaz St. Ramsay Weeks Cutoff is closed between Spruce Avenue and U.S. 50.

Closures are expected to remain in place until 10:30 or 11:30 p.m. 

It is unknown if anyone was injured in addition to the fatality.
