Local firefighters scrambled to put out fires Saturday night as illegal fireworks were lit off across the Truckee Meadows.
Between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., crews with the Reno Fire Department put out nine fires believed to be started by fireworks. Â
Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue say they responded to about a dozen calls for brush fires during that same time frame.  All believed to be started by fireworks.
They say the fires were in brush and put out quickly.
