Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is hosting two free Back-to-School vaccination events this July to help families access immunizations before the new school year.
Vaccines will be available for children ages 5 to 18 at Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada’s Neighborhood Centers. Event details and locations are available on the Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada wellness and vaccines page.
"Every child deserves to start the school year healthy, confident, and ready to learn," said Marie Baxter, CEO of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. "These free vaccination events help remove barriers for families by providing convenient access to essential immunizations. We are proud to work alongside the State of Nevada to ensure every child has the opportunity for a healthy start to the school year."
The Back to School vaccine clinics will be held at the following locations:
Moana Neighborhood Center on Thursday, July 30, from 12 to 3 p.m. at 480 E. Moana Lane.
Sun Valley Neighborhood Center on Friday, July 31, from 12 to 3 p.m. at 130 West Gepford Parkway.
Qualifying criteria include children ages 5 to 18 who are uninsured, Medicaid-eligible or Medicaid-enrolled, American Indian or Alaska Native, or underinsured. Parents must be present and, if possible, provide shot record information. Out-of-state residents must show proof of vaccination to qualify.
Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada said the focus is ensuring equitable vaccination access across Nevada’s population. The organization said the events are trusted immunization resources and inspire a culture embracing immunization to protect the public from vaccine-preventable disease.
