A wanted fugitive has been taken into custody following a series of burglaries at homes in Mineral County.
The burglaries happened in March of 2023 in Marietta according to a release from the Mineral County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators determined Jeffery Barnes Sr. and others as alleged suspects and an arrest warrant was issued.
Property allegedly stolen by Barnes was found in Bishop, California.
Barnes was arrested on October 1st by U.S. Marshals and the Nebraska State Police.
He had been evading authorities since April of 2023 and was found in Nebraska on September 20th before being taken into custody days later.
Barnes is now awaiting extradition back to Mineral County.
