NDOT workers generic

The Nevada Department of Transportation is advising drivers to watch for changing traffic patterns as new ramps connecting U.S. 395 and North Virginia Street in the North Valleys open next week.

Crews are finishing construction and installing signs before opening three revamped ramps in Panther Valley:

  • North Virginia Street to northbound U.S. 395
  • Northbound U.S. 395 to North Virginia Street
  • North Virginia Street to southbound U.S. 395

The new ramps will change how drivers access Golden Valley Road.

Previously, drivers entering northbound U.S. 395 from North Virginia Street could exit directly onto Golden Valley Road. Under the new configuration, that exit will no longer be accessible from northbound U.S. 395 for drivers entering from North Virginia Street. Instead, they will be able to access Lemmon Drive.

NDOT says the change is designed to reduce merging traffic on northbound U.S. 395.

Drivers should still expect intermittent overnight ramp closures in the coming weeks as construction continues.

Other traffic impacts include:

  • Periodic lane shifts throughout construction.
  • Overnight lane reductions on U.S. 395, with one lane open in each direction from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Intermittent ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with marked detours.
  • A 55 mph speed limit through the work zone at all times.
  • Periodic lane reductions on Lemmon Drive and Golden Valley Road beneath U.S. 395.

The construction schedule is subject to change.
