Human remains found buried on a property in Josephine County, Oregon, have been identified as a 67-year-old man from Incline Village who was reported missing.

Andrew Forrest Odom was reported missing to the Medford Police Department on Oct. 1.

Investigators determined Odom had traveled from Carson City to Medford on Sept. 21. His last known whereabouts were in Josephine County on Sept. 22.

On Oct. 6, Oregon State Police officers went to a home in the area to talk to a person as part of the investigation. That person ran into a nearby home and fired shots at officers.

Officers from the Grants Pass Police Department and the Josephine County Sheriff's Office were then called to the scene.

After officers cleared the residence, they found two dead men with apparent gunshot wounds.

They were identified as 73-year-old Rick Odom and his son, 40-year-old Spencer Odom.

Investigators determined Spencer Odom died from a self-inflicted gunshot. Rick Odom was the brother of Andrew Odom.

Two days later, detectives, with assistance from the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, found human remains buried on the property. The remains were identified as Andrew Odom, the missing man from Incline Village.

The investigation is ongoing.
