Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino, formerly known as Harvey's, celebrated a grand opening on Monday.

Phase two of the $200 million transformation is now complete.

They celebrated the launch of new enhancements to the resort's pool, meeting and convention space, as well as a new bar and lounge.

The resort says it's working to bring a new luxury feel while still keeping the same spirit of Lake Tahoe that people love so much and travel from all over the world to see.

Karie Hall, the SVP/General Manager of Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino, told us, "Not new ownership, rebrand and a reimagining of everything we're doing here in Tahoe. Harvey's was a fantastic asset, 82 years of amazing history, and we just felt like it was time to try something new, to market something fresh, something lively, while still honoring the heritage. But really, just leaning into something entirely new."

Workers at the resort told us their focus was on making sure visitors to Lake Tahoe found something fun to enjoy all-year-round.

They say that Lake Tahoe hosts numerous people each season, and they felt it was important to give everyone an amazing experience, no matter the time of year they visit.

Hall said, "Tahoe's a getaway all year long. We want to make sure people feel comfortable, and that's where après-ski is very important. The fire pits we have at Wolf Patio. We also have this great indoor-outdoor experience, so we want to make sure people are here for the entire experience, winter, summer, and everywhere in between."

They also say that although vacation is an amazing time away from people's day-to-day lives, the importance of a routine is still there, and because of that, they wanted to redesign their fitness center to ensure people still had that time for themselves even when away from home.

Hall told us, "We have a brand new fitness center right across the hall, and then we have this amazing new lounge. It's a cool lounge, High Dive, so it's our pool setting, but just elevated with three new spots, cabanas, daybeds, indoor-outdoor bar, and then the lounge experience."

We got a chance to speak to people who take yearly trips to Lake Tahoe, and they say being surrounded by nature is a mental reset.

They encourage people to enjoy the lake but also find time to walk through the resort and have fun with what they offer

Christine Nguyen, a resort guest, said, "Try the food, all the steakhouses are amazing, but definitely make time to just go outside and breathe the nice, fresh air and visit the bar here."
