The City of Reno is hosting “House Party Plays the Tracks,” a free, all-ages event at Locomotion Plaza this summer.
The events are scheduled for Friday, July 19, August 16, and September 20.
The monthly event, organized by House Party and supported in part by the City, will feature live music, interactive art installations, and performances from local artists.
Each event will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and will include fire dancing enclave performances and a variety of food trucks.
Attendees aged 21 and over can continue the night at an official after-party held at Dead Ringer Analog Bar from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., which requires a cover charge.
“We hope everyone will come enjoy the energy downtown, but we especially want to invite Reno locals to rediscover what’s right in their backyard,” said Vice Mayor Kathleen Taylor. “Locomotion Plaza has been completely transformed into a space filled with creative energy and connection. If you haven’t been downtown in a while, now is the perfect time.”
The July 19 event at Locomotion Plaza will feature performances by Sacha Robotti, NatNotNate, Rainbow Squid, and Z.
The after-party lineup at Dead Ringer includes Zacky, Teyquerisi, Jimmy Dirt, and Bridges.
On August 16, performers at Locomotion Plaza will include Atish, Hot Dad, Lamas, and Fox & Buck. Iwata, Chuck Tyler, and Manzi will take over the after-party.
The September 20 main event will include sets by Ātrisco, Bridges, Cowdahdog, Chuck Tyler, HB, Jimmy Dirt, JoJo, Mo’Steph, and Noark. The after-party lineup for that night is still to be announced.
The event is part of the city’s broader effort to revitalize downtown Reno, stemming from findings in the Virginia Street Placemaking and Truckee River Studies.
According to the City, those studies identified public events as a key strategy to activate the corridor with concerts, movies, and community gatherings.
More information on this and future events is available through the City of Reno’s Events Calendar.
