Drivers are advised to plan ahead for a brief series of lane reductions on eastbound I-80 east of Sparks on Thursday, September 12.
One eastbound lane of I-80 will be closed between the Vista Boulevard and Lockwood exits for brief intervals between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on that day.
Travelers should expect delays and should plan to allow extra travel time. Anyone who can is asked to plan alternate travel to avoid the area altogether.
The lane closure is happening so that trucks can access the area to remove debris from an environmentally-sensitive area located near the Truckee River.
NDOT and a team of contractors will remove the debris from the affected area, then the lane closure will be in place while the trucks load and remove the debris as quickly as they can.
