Click It or Ticket

A host of local participating law enforcement agencies in Nevada will be teaming up to crack down on seat belt use this month.

The Joining Forces coalition will be running the Click It or Ticket campaign from November 10 until December 1.

The purpose of the campaign is to keep drivers safe with education and enforcement - the campaign isn't just about giving tickets, but to save lives and prevent serious—sometimes deadly—injuries.

The campaign consists of coordinating highly visible patrols across the state.

Officials want to remind drivers that when you buckle up when driving or riding in the front seat of a car, your risk of getting into a fatal injury is cut in half.

They also say that seat belts are the best defense against impaired, aggressive and distracted drivers.

Joining Forces passes along the following tips about seat belt safety:

  • The shoulder belt should lay flat across the middle of your chest and away from your neck.
  • The lap belt should fit across your hips, not your stomach.
  • Never put the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm.
