Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful says 788 volunteers joined together during the annual Great Community Cleanup.
Volunteers worked at 26 sites around Reno Sparks, focusing on illegal dump sites, removing invasive weeds and restoring local parks.
Here are the stats released by KTMB:
• 788 volunteers participated
• 26 cleanup sites completed
• 545,166 lbs. of trash removed (273 tons)
• 120,814 lbs. of green waste removed (60 tons)
• 210 yards of mulch spread
• 54 trees planted
• 216 tires collected, plus appliances, furniture, and illegally dumped debris
Darcy Phillips with KTMB says, “Today is a great example of what this community can accomplish when we come together. We’re incredibly grateful for the volunteers and partners who made a visible impact across the region.”
