Lyon County School District will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students during the 2025-26 school year.Â
The LCSD says the continued effort is made possible through the Lyon County School District, School Board of Trustees approval of district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The federal initiative allows schools in eligible communities to serve meals to all students at no cost, with no application required from families.
In collaboration with district food service management company Chartwells, the district is participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to deliver meals that meet or exceed USDA nutrition standards.
