A man has been convicted in connection with a fatal hit-&-run crash in Sparks in December 2021. 

Sparks Police say 22-year-old Ricardo Pacheco-Marquez was convicted earlier this month and now awaits sentencing. 

Authorities say they found Christy Valdez laying in the middle of the road and a second person who also had been hit by the same car near G Street and El Rancho Drive.

Valdez later died while the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

Pacheco-Marquez was arrested in April 2022.Â
