A man faces multiple felony charges in connection with a domestic violence incident in Sun Valley on Monday night.

Deputies say they learned from witnesses that the suspect pointed a gun at his girlfriend while at her parents' home. She was then driven to the suspect's home, where she eventually fled to a nearby home to request help.

A search was then started for the suspect where he was ultimately found outside his home on Honeysuckle Court.

Diaz was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following charges:

* Kidnapping in the Second Degree with Use of a Deadly Weapon, in violation of a protection order

* False Imprisonment with Use of a Deadly Weapon

* Assault Constituting Domestic Violence with Use of a Deadly Weapon

* Destruction of Property Constituting Domestic Violence (Gross Misdemeanor)
