The Sparks Police Department, along with REMSA, were called to a house tonight after reports of a minor being shot.

The report of the shooting came in around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night on the 5600 block of El Paseo Drive in Sparks.

When officials arrived at the house, they found and provided emergency aid to the minor who had been shot.

The victim was then transported to the hospital, and their injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.

After an investigation, officers found out that another minor had been playing with a gun when it went off and hit the victim.

The second minor was arrested for being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated, child endangerment, aiming/discharging a firearm at a human and juvenile in possession of a firearm.

The investigation into this shooting is still ongoing.
