UPDATE - JULY 29:
A Washington woman has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on U.S. 50 in Eureka County earlier this week.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 9:53 a.m. Monday near mile marker 17 on U.S. 50, about 18 miles west of Eureka.
The preliminary investigation found that 73-year-old Karen Thompson, of Snohomish, Washington, was riding a black BMW motorcycle westbound when she steered left, causing the motorcycle to enter a low-side slide onto its left side.
Investigators said the motorcycle continued sliding until its tires regained traction, causing it to trip and overturn. Thompson was ejected and came to rest on the dirt shoulder along the north side of the highway. The motorcycle continued sliding before coming to rest on its right side in the middle of the roadway.
Thompson suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol's Major Incident Reconstruction Team.

An investigation is underway after a deadly motorcycle crash on U.S. 50 in Eureka County late Monday morning.
The crash happened 15 miles east of Eureka just before 10 a.m.
The rider's name hasn't been released, or the cause of the crash.
Delays may be possible in the immediate area while crews clear the crash site.
