Former NASA astronaut and engineer Dr. José Hernández will be appearing for one night at Carson High School to share his extraordinary story.

The "Aim For The Stars" event will be held Thursday, October 3 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Tech Center at Carson High School, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.

This event is open to all students, parents and community members.

Dr. Hernández' life story is the subject of the film A Million Miles Away, about his experience in successfully overcoming barriers as he persevered in achieving his dream of travelling to space.

There will be a keynote presentation by Dr. Hernández intended to foster creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. A Q&A session will follow where students may engage with the astronaut directly.

The entire presentation will be provided in English and Spanish.
