The Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police has released additional information about the crash that led to the death of Deputy Tristan Redmond, a member of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 2, at around 5:17 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a crash on Cox Road near Lakeview Drive in Churchill County.Â
A preliminary investigation determined that a blue 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America motorcycle, driven by 29-year old Deputy Redmond, from Fallon, was traveling eastbound on Cox Road.
The motorcycle left the paved roadway onto the right dirt shoulder, struck a fence on the south side of the road, and Redmond was ejected.
He was transported to a hospital in Reno with life-threatening injuries. Redmond died on May 13.
Investigators stated that impairment was not found to be a factor in the crash. Redmond was in off-duty status at the time.
Earlier this month, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office announced Redmond’s passing and held a funeral procession near Renown Regional Medical Center.

A funeral procession near Renown Wednesday honored a Churchill County deputy who died after an off-duty motorcycle crash earlier this month.Â
The sheriff's office announced Deputy Tristan Redmond's death on its Facebook page.Â
The office says Redmond was flown to Renown Regional Medical after the May 2nd crash and died 11 days later with his wife and family by his side.
"Deputy Redmond selflessly served the citizens of Churchill County for the past 4 years, was a Field Training Officer (FTO), and was the secretary of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Deputies Association. Deputy Redmond is described by his law enforcement family as hard-working, dedicated to law enforcement, and served his community with integrity, vigilance, and persistence. Deputy Redmond’s passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Please send prayers to this young man’s family, friends, and coworkers. This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are deeply saddened by this tragic event."
