Cameron Forbes wanted picture

Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Division need your help finding a man they say is a wanted fugitive in Reno.

Police say they attempted to do a home contact at a residence near Claremont Street and Kirman Avenue in Reno, on Cameron Forbes, a non-compliant offender who had cut his arrest ankle monitoring bracelet. 

Forbes was on probation for carrying a concealed explosive, pneumatic gun, firearm, or dangerous weapon, a gross misdemeanor, and on a diversion for felony DUI, third offense. 

Police say as they attempted to make contact a person fled the Forbes home.

As a cautionary measure, Veterans Memorial Elementary School was put on a secured lockdown while officers from the Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Division, Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division, Washoe County School Police, and the Reno Police Department attempted to locate the person.

Police say the subject was not located in the vicinity and the lockdown on the school was lifted.

Nevada State Police says that Cameron Forbes is considered a fugitive and is wanted by the Nevada Parole and Probation Division for probation violation. While Forbes is not considered to be armed at this time, the public is advised not to approach him if encountered.
