A new affordable housing complex opened in downtown Reno on Tuesday.
The Line Drive Apartments is a new three-story apartment building with 51 affordable housing units located off of 700 Line Drive near E. 4th Street.
The housing complex is designed to help veterans and others be independent while having help if they need it.
“For people who need help with getting to the bank, getting to the grocery store, or basic cooking stuff like that. We'll have staff here 24 hours a day who will help them with those things,” says Jerry Kappeler, chief developer of Accessible Space Inc.
The apartments also features outdoor activities, a dog park, shaded seating, and barbeque areas along with an indoor community room.
The $15 million project was completed in approximately 14 months.
