New information has emerged about a shooting in Reno that happened early Tuesday morning. Police tell us one person died and two others were injured.
Police responded to reports of shots fired around 1 a.m. on Linden Street between Kietzke Lane and Yori Avenue.
When police arrived, they found three men with gunshot wounds. One person died from their injuries on scene, and the two other men were taken to the hospital.
Public Information Officer Chris Johnson says investigators are still figuring out what exactly happened.
"We are working through all different types of investigatory leads," he said. "We're conducting interviews, we're looking at different surveillance footage. This happened just this morning, so we're trying to put all the pieces together."
We don't know the current conditions of the two men taken to the hospital. Officer Johnson says they're still figuring out if any of the men shot may have been the shooter or if it was a fourth person.
The identity of the man who died will be released by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office after proper notifications have been made.
Reno Police say there is no threat to the public.
"It was not like a random act of violence; something had occurred. So, it's not just a random person going around town that is committing these acts of violence, and so that's why we believe there's no immediate threat to the public," said Johnson.
Anyone who might have any information regarding this shooting is urged to call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency line at (775) 334-2677, or Secret Witness to stay anonymous at (775) 322-4900.
