Sparks Police have released additional details in a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist Tuesday morning.

Investigation has revealed that the motorcycle was headed south on Vista Boulevard when a car pulled out of a private driveway into the path of the motorcycle, according to a press release from the Sparks Police Department.

The motorcycle hit the front part of the car and the rider was thrown from the bike, landing in the road.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in this crash.

Sparks Police are asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash or who has information to contact the Sparks Police Department at (775) 353-2231 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.

According to Sparks Police the southbound lanes of Vista Boulevard at Brierley Way have reopened.  


11:15 A.M UPDATE:

According to Sparks Police, they received a call of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in the area of Vista Boulevard and Brierley Way shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

They say that they arrived on the scene along with Sparks Fire and REMSA and located the rider who had been thrown from the motorcycle in the northbound lane of Vista.

Police say the rider suffered serious and life-threatening injuries, was treated on the scene, and then taken to a local hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing, we will update you as more details become available.

Sparks Police are working a major crash on Vista Boulevard in Sparks.

Officers have closed the southbound lanes of Vista Boulevard at Prater Way and the northbound lanes of Vista Boulevard at Brierley Way.

Police say to avoid the area.
