Two hunters who were reported missing in Elko County on Saturday night were found safe on Sunday after rolling their side-by-side.
The Elko County Sheriff’s Office was notified of two overdue hunters on October 24 around 10:40 p.m., according to a post from the Elko County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
The two hunters had been hunting in the Shafter area but last advised family they were going to change locations and would be hunting in the Spruce Mountain area.
Deputies searched through the night for the hunters. On October 25, Elko County Search and Rescue, Reach’s medical helicopter, and the Clover Valley Volunteer Fire Department deployed to the area of Spruce Mountain and continued the search.
Several citizens also responded to the area and joined the search efforts.
At around 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, the two hunters were found walking on a two-track road north of Spruce Mountain Road.
They had rolled their side-by-side just after dark the night before and spent the night near it.
The hunters were cold and hungry, but reported no injuries, according to the ECSO post.
