One person was arrested and six were cited for solicitation of prostitution in a sting operation by the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit.
HEAT has been carrying out operations to reduce demand for human trafficking in recent weeks by targeting sex purchasers, according to a release from the unit.
During the operation, HEAT Detectives working undercover were solicited by seven people.
One of those people was arrested for solicitation of prostitution by a customer, as well as open and gross lewdness. That suspect has been identified as 72-year-old Raul Serafin-Montelongo.
Six were cited for solicitation of prostitution by a customer.
Those suspects have been identified as 43-year-old Angel Ponce Ponce, 53-year-old Eduardo Ramos Ramirez, 54-year-old Manuel Pinuelas, 53-year-old Francisco Villasenor Orduna, 20-year-old Nonamegiven Sujal, and 39-year-old Ajmal Sediqi.
Authorities with heat also reminded people that solicitation of prostitution is illegal in Washoe County.
