One person was killed, and another is suspected to have suffered serious injuries in a two-car crash south of Winnemucca on Tuesday.
It happened on September 29 around 2:10 p.m. on State Route 294 near Humboldt County mile marker 6.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a gray 2016 Kia Forte was heading south on State Route 294 while a white Ford Escape was heading south.
The Forte left its lane, crossing in front of the Escape, and the vehicles collided head-on.
The driver of the Forte, identified as 41-year-old Kami Lynn Day of Ludowici, Georgia, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
The driver of the Escape was not identified, but an NHP press release says it is suspected that they suffered serious injuries.
