Drivers traveling through a busy stretch of Prater Way in Sparks will soon see traffic restrictions as a roadway rehabilitation project gets underway.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County will begin improvements Monday, June 15, on Prater Way between Pyramid Way and Stanford Way. As work starts, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction zone.
Crews will begin concrete removal, concrete replacement, and storm drain improvements as part of the Prater Way Rehabilitation Project.
Drivers should expect minor delays along the corridor and allow extra travel time while work is underway. The RTC is asking drivers to slow down, follow posted signs, and use caution around crews and equipment.
"This rehabilitation project is a major investment in keeping Prater Way safe and functional for everyone who uses it," said Kimberly Diegle, RTC project manager. "We'll get through this construction as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we appreciate the community's patience while we work to enhance the corridor."
