A man and woman face drug and other charges, after a report of reckless driving leads to a suspected Fentanyl seizure on I-80 near West Wendover.
On Monday, April 7, at around 8:30 A.M. Troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a report from the Elko County Sheriff's Office about a reckless driver speeding eastbound on Interstate 80 toward West Wendover.
The dark blue BMW sedan was clocked traveling over 120 MPH.
A Trooper initiated a traffic stop, making contact with the male driver and his female passenger.
During the stop, troopers discovered approximately 2.5 pounds (about 16,000 pills) of suspected fentanyl in the car.
Further investigation revealed that the passenger had provided false information about her identity.
The driver was arrested for reckless driving, driving without a valid license, and trafficking over 400 grams or more of drugs suspected to be fentanyl, while the passenger was charged with providing false information and trafficking over 400 grams or more of suspected fentanyl.
