The Reno City Council has approved a proposed plan to develop a new apartment complex near Lakeridge despite residents' objections.
In 2021, the Planning Commission approved a tentative map and conditional use permit for a 314-unit condo with a clubhouse on the site of the old Lakeridge tennis club near Plumas Street. Councilmembers then modified the planning commission's decision and approved a newly modified proposal.
Two different councilmembers tried to reject the planning commission's appeal but eventually failed; then a vote was held for the entire project.
Ultimately, the council moved forward with a plan that includes 273 units.
