ORIGINAL ARTICLE (OCTOBER 2, 2025):

Reno Police say they're looking into a possible suspect who may be involved in last night's shooting that killed one person.

You may remember us reporting this yesterday. It happened on Enterprise Road at The Highlands Student Housing apartments near the University of Nevada, Reno.

Reno Police were initially responding to a report of a fight at the apartments just before 7:30, but things became much more serious when they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was quickly taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office will release the identification of the victim as soon as the proper notifications have been made.

Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance says there's no threat to the public: "It seems to be an isolated incident between a group of people that had some sort of altercation or interaction with one another, and it appears that they probably did know each other, so at this point in time we don't believe there are any additional threats to the public or anything else that we are looking for."

Police have not yet confirmed if the person they're looking into is the actual shooter. Chief Nance tells us they're still determining the exact nature of the shooting.

Anyone with information is urged to call Reno Police at (775) 334-2677, or Secret Witness to remain anonymous at (775) 322-4900.
