Man arrested, charged in deadly shooting in Pickett Park

A man now faces a murder charge in connection with a deadly shooting at Pickett Park in late October.

Reno Police say they arrested 19-year-old Brian Flores in connection with the death of 22-year-old Joshua Kent.

Flores was booked into the Washoe County Jail on an open murder charge on Wednesday.

Police also say they located a gold Honda Accord that was allegedly used during the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Washoe County coroner has identified the man killed in a shooting last week in Reno.

The medical examiner says 22-year-old Joshua Kent was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 17, where he ultimately died from his injuries on Saturday, October 19.

The medical examiner says the cause of death was a gunshot wound of the head, the manner of death was homicide.

Officials believe Mr. Kent was homeless.

The Reno Police Department is handling the investigation in this case.

UPDATE - OCTOBER 22: Police Seek driver in connection with deadly shooting in Pickett Park

Police are looking for a driver who may have witnessed a deadly shooting at Pickett Park in Reno last week.

Officials are looking for a 2003-2005 Honda Accord with a sunroof, dark-tinted windows, and 5-spoke wheels.

Police say they found an unidentified man with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The suspect hasn’t been found since the shooting which happened around 7 p.m. on Thursday.
