The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony closed its administrative offices and health center on Thursday due to hazardous weather and snow-covered roads.
The closure affects multiple programs and services, though the pharmacy will remain open until 1 p.m. for patients needing medications.
Officials said the RSIC Recreation Department’s youth basketball league games and Zumba classes are canceled, and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada Mobile Harvest and UNITY Teen Food Pantry will not operate today, resuming next week.
Evening transit routes from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will continue to operate, though drivers may experience delays. Reno Colony Disposal Services will also continue operations with possible delays, while RSIC smoke shops will close at 12 p.m. and reopen Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
RSIC childcare and Head Start programs will remain closed for the rest of the day, with staff staying on site until all children are safely picked up.
Officials said all services are expected to resume Friday, weather permitting, and residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel.
