A Reno woman plead guilty to driving under the influence, with substantial bodily harm after she hit another driver head-on. Â
38-year-old Amanda Baker, pled guilty on Tuesday, to charges of Driving Under the Influence, Substantial Bodily Harm, in connection to a head-on crash on Keystone Avenue in March 2024.
According to the Washoe County District Attorney's Office, Baker failed to stay in her lane while making a left-hand turn toward Jones Street and hit a car coming from the opposite direction.
They say officers at the scene reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Baker, who later had a blood alcohol content of three times the legal limit of 0.319.
Baker sustained minor injuries, while the 68-year-old man driving the other car suffered a broken sternum.
Baker's sentencing is set for August 6, and she faces up to 20 years in prison.
