Renown Health is working to conserve its supply of IV fluids amid a national shortage in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
An IV fluid manufacturing facility in North Carolina had to temporarily close in the wake of Helene. That facility provided 60% of the nation's IV fluids.
In response to the shortage, Renown is actively implementing measures to conserve its supply of IV fluids, they said in a statement.
Renown says they are monitoring the situation while still performing and scheduling medically necessary procedures.
In response to the shortage, healthcare facilities nationwide have been creating conservation plans and warning the public of potential disruptions to elective surgical procedures.
